Kodak is an unincorporated area in Sevier County, Tennessee. Kodak is situated on TN 66 (Winfield Dunn Parkway), just south of Interstate 40 and about 10 minutes east of Knoxville and borders Sevierville. The village of Kodak was named for Kodak camera by permission of George Eastman. The postmaster thought the name easy to remember. Much of Kodak along TN 66 has been annexed by Sevierville.
Kodak is has a lot of excellent amenities on its own. Many of the locations of homes have great country, mountain, or lake views, and the area is beautiful with great natural features. Schools are convenient. Kodak is close Douglas Lake and just a short drive to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. It is also home to the Seven Islands State Birding Park. Kodak is, of course, located not so far from the University of Tennessee, and other colleges and universities in Knoxville. Sevierville has excellent health and medical facilities including the LeConte Medical Center. Hospitals and medical services are also convenient in Knoxville. Public services are modern and up-to-date in Kodak. The cost of living is one of the lowest in the country. All government services, including universities, are provided by Sevier County or by utility districts. The quality of life is one of the best- fun, safe, and secure with superb activities for your family to enjoy.
