Blaine, a small pastoral town of only 1,900 people, is located in Grainger County, Tennessee. It is considered a suburb of Knoxville but is part of both the Knoxville and Morristown Metropolitan Statistical Areas.
Blaine was originally called "Blaine's Crossroads" due to several main roads intersecting in that area. It is also located at the end of Emory Road, an important road in Knox County.
Blaine is also known for being a stop along the Peavine railroad from Knoxville to Bristol in the 19th and 20th centuries.
